Gala Apple - Bush

A cross between Kidd's Orange Red x Golden Delicious and first raised in New Zealand in 1934 by J H Kidd.  When allowed to fully ripen the flavour is sweet with a hint of of pear drops.  The flesh is fine-textured, crips and juicy. Popular as a commercial variety but the flavour does not compare to home grown apples!  Cropping tends to be regular and heavy and the trees are naturally fairly vigorous.

Partially self-fertile but would benefit from a pollinating partner.
