Golden Sphere is a gorgeous modern variety of Mirabelle.  The large, tasty fruits are of superb eating quality, with a rich, sweet gage-like flavour, juicy and delicious.  They are delicious when eaten fresh from the tree but also excellent jammed or cooked with.
