Apple Ermine Moth - Fact Sheet

The Apple Ermine Moth (Yponomeuta malinellus) is becoming increasingly common in gardens and orchards throughout the UK. The adult moth is harmless, but its caterpillars feed together inside distinctive white silken webs, stripping leaves from apple trees during late spring and early summer.

Severe infestations can weaken trees and may significantly reduce fruit production.
