Create a tree with a story
If you’re looking for something truly special, our bespoke grafting service offers the chance to grow a tree that’s deeply personal — whether it's a cherished variety from the National Fruit Collection or a beloved tree from your own garden that you’d like to preserve for future generations.
What is grafting?
Grafting is a traditional horticultural technique, practiced for centuries. In winter, we take a small cutting, (this is the graft wood or scion as it is called) from your chosen “mother” tree and graft it onto a compatible rootstock. This creates a new tree that is genetically identical to the original — a perfect clone, grown just for you.
We can graft a wide range of apple, pear, cherry, and plum varieties onto different rootstocks, allowing you to choose the final tree size and growth habit to suit your garden, soil, and space.
Looking for something unique?
Why not opt for a family tree — a single tree with three different apple or pear varieties growing together. A beautiful and practical option for smaller gardens or those who love to be a little different.
Prices Single variety trees: £40.00 – £50.00 (depending on rootstock) Family trees (apple or pear): £75.00 Trees are grafted in winter and will be ready to collect or dispatch the following Autumn. It’s a little wait, but as with all good things — it’s worth it.
