Originating from Ukraine around 1950, Countess is a versatile dual-purpose variety valued for both fresh eating and culinary use. It produces attractive, rounded fruits with a deep red to purple skin.

Inside, the flesh varies from golden yellow to flushed red, offering a soft, melting texture that is exceptionally juicy and naturally sweet with a rich, full flavour. When fully ripe.  A good choice for cooking/preserving as it has a free stone.
