One of the oldest known varieties in the world, originating in Roman times.  Known as the wise apple as it blossoms late.  Very crisp with a lovely slightly acidic flavour, crops freely. It is very hardy and growth is compact making it suitable for the smaller garden or even pot culture. Attractive foliage.
