Devonshire Quarrenden Apple - Espalier (1 Tier)

Recorded by John Worlidge in c1677 originated in Devon.  A popular Victorian apple.

The apples are very attractive with smooth yellow skin, flushed with dark crimson.  The flesh is crisp and juicy with a delicious flavour that has a distinctive strawberry taste.  Like many early apples, this is one to enjoy as soon as it is ripe as it will not keep for very long.
