Originating from Hertfordshire in 1869 and bred at the River's nursery. Cropping from early/mid June Early River's is one of the earliest cherries. Ripening to a very dark red-almost black cherry. The flesh is rich, sweet and juicy. Early River's is not self-fertile and requires another early flowering pollinating partner. Merton Glory is an ideal partner.
