The Kent apple is also known by the synonym "Malling Kent" a cross between Cox Orange Pippin x Jonathan raised at East Malling in 1949.  The fruits are highly coloured, sweet, juicy and aromatic.  Kent is a heavy cropping variety that is also very disease resistant.
