Messire Jean Pear - Bush (Mature specimen)

This very old pear is something of a mystery.  What is known is that it originated from France and there are records in existence that mention it as far back as 1540.

The pears are very sweet and juicy, as they mature their is a distinctive malty but with notes of caramel.
