Discovered in the early 1800s. It was found in Dean Woods, Buckfastleigh, Devon by Peter Lock. Fruits have soft, sweet, flesh that has a wonderful balance of flavours. When cooked the flesh breaks down to a golden, sweet puree. The fruits are large.
