Tewkesbury Baron Apple - Half-Standard

Little is recorded about this rare and now endangered variety.  We know it was registered around 1883 and originated from Tewkesbury, Glocs.  The fruits are a richly coloured crimson, when exposed to sunlight.  Some report the flavour as "insipid" but those who own and grow this variety passionately dispute this, with one describing the fruits as "the most exquisite I have ever tasted".
