William Bon Chretien, raised in 1770 in Berkshire.  An excellent dual purpose pear that is delicious enjoyed fresh from the tree or perfect for poaching and preserving.  The pears are smooth skinned, sweet and juicy with tender, melting flesh that has just a hint of musk.
